How it works

The calculator converts compatible quantities into a normalized comparison unit. Weight items are compared per kg, volume items are compared per liter, and count items are compared per item or per pack.

Formula used

The calculator first converts compatible quantities into one comparison unit. Then it divides total price by normalized quantity. Weight items are shown per kg, volume items are shown per liter, and count items are shown per item or per pack.

Unit price = total price ÷ normalized quantity.

How to compare different package sizes

You can enter 500 with g and 1 with kg to compare both as price per kg. You can also enter 500 with ml and 1 with liters to compare both as price per liter. The tool converts compatible units only for comparison.

It does not convert currencies. It also does not compare quality, freshness, brand, taxes, delivery fee, or discounts.

What the result means

The better value result shows the option with the lower normalized unit price. The difference per unit shows how far apart the two normalized unit prices are.

Limitations

This is a simple personal estimate only. Weight can be compared with weight, volume with volume, items with items, and packs with packs. It does not compare weight with volume or items with packs.

This tool does not provide financial, tax, legal, investment, or accounting advice.
